TeenCERT
The MICDS Teen CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) offers an opportunity for students to help make our school and community safer through education and training to prepare and respond to disasters and emergencies. At least once every two years, the Team will offer 21-24 hours of FEMA sponsored training at no cost to all interested members. In addition, the team will organize and implement volunteering and community outreach opportunities, both within and outside of MICDS, focusing on disaster preparedness as well as lifelong readiness and first response skills. Additional trainings could include CPR, First Aid, and Wilderness Response trainings.
Time commitment: Once per month. Members also commit to the additional trainings offered. We will not offer the FEMA sponsored training until the 21-22 school year.
