Building the community up by helping our elders embrace every moment
MICDS students, teachers, and faculty all came together to bake to raise money for BJC Hospice. MICDS was able to fund a great cause that supports our elders with compassionate care. Thank you to the BJC Hospice club for helping our elders live life to the fullest!
“Through compassionate care, we provide a circle of support that’s centered on comfort, quality of life and the individual needs of each patient and family we serve.” -BJC Hospice
About BJC Hospice
Student Contacts: Erin Halligan, Courtney Shands
As part of BJC Hospice Club, students earn community service hours through monthly meetings to make cards and seasonal crafts for people nearing the end of their lives. The goal is to let each patient know we're thinking of them and to cheer them up, even make their day. Other events include guest speakers who help explain hospice care as well as the annual car wash to raise money for Camp Stepping Stones, a summer camp for children who have lost loved ones.
Time commitment: Occasional activities periods; Occasional Saturday trip to Hospice.
