MICDS students meet their Best Buddy for the first time
What is Buddysgiving?
Buddysgiving is the first event of the year for the MICDS students to meet their Best Buddy. Best Buddies is an international organization that strives to normalize friendships between people with disabilities and people without them.
After careful consideration, a buddy and student are paired up for the year to create a one-on-one friendship with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As the students excitedly waited for their pairings to be revealed, many students and buddies enjoyed playing fun games at chapter president Ally Kalishman's home. The crowd enjoyed games such as ping pong, pool, air hockey, monkey in the middle, but most importantly Fortnight. After the matches were revealed, the group enjoyed a lovely breakfast and continued mingling and getting to know each other.
